This tutorial will show you how to change the footer copyright in Joomla 2.5 templates.

Joomla 2.5.x. How to edit footer copyright

  1. Open the admin section, go to Extensions -> Language manager:

  2. Open the Overrides tab, click New:

  3. You can make an override using Value or Constant. Let’s search for value privacy. Enter ‘privacy’ word into the search field and click ‘Search’ button. In Search Results you need to select the item and set the desired text in the Text field of a New Override. Save the override. Refresh the page to see that the footer Privacy Policy text is changed:

  4. Please follow the same steps to edit the footer ‘Joomla’ and ‘All Rights Reserved’ text.

  5. To change the URL of your Privacy Policy link, on your FTP or hosting Control Panel File Manager go to templates/theme+your_theme_number/features/ and open the copyright.php file. Please replace “index.php/privacy-policy” with your URL and save the changes:
